Since our first ever pair made in 2014, the goal with Deliberate Life Designs has been to bring custom handcrafted, made-to-order minimalist sport sandals to enthusiasts of all types. Our sandals are great for hardcore runners on trail ultras, ultralight backpackers looking for the lightest weight trail or camp shoes, and barefoot aficionados looking for personalized kicks for everyday comfort. “I love my Perception sandals. I got them for running purposes because I can’t use running shoes without having pain and barefoot/minimalist running prevents that from happening. As a bonus, running with these instead of shoes instantly reduced my vertical oscillation and generally improved my running economy. These sandals are not forgiving compared to running shoes, so you need to have good form or you will feel the impact. That forced me to run in a more natural manner, but it can take getting used to. I’ll be buying these again and again.”
“Not normally a big reviewer, but I’m on my 4th pair of DLD sandals, and have been super stoked with them... They handle any trail, grip great, and weigh nothing clipped to a climbing harness. A custom pair with Vibram megagrip is my go to for all day adventures in the mountains. I’ve had them up multiple multiple big summits, on class 4 and low class 5 scrambles, and run an ultra marathon in them. Absolutely recommend to anyone in search of minimalist sandals.”
“Loveeeeee my DLD sandals! I was able to print out the different foot shapes and get a fit that matched mine perfect! I couldn’t have asked for a better fit, I am on week 3 of wearing them. Honestly I’ve gone my whole life “needing ankle surgery” for “flat feet” and didn’t think it would be possible to wear a shoe without arch support inserts (or so I was told) but I have been reading how to strengthen my arch and these are the perfect fix!
